The family values of giving and receiving graciously were learned while growing up on a farm in Clare, Iowa. I was educated in grades 1-12 by the Presentation Sisters in Clare whose spirit of joy and dedication inspired me to join them. For 25 years I enjoyed teaching science and math classes in various Iowa high schools. After serving 2 terms on the PBVM Leadership Team, I moved to east Tennessee and spent 18 years in Appalachian mountain ministry. Over the years I have actively engaged in a variety of social justice activities. In August 2008 I joined the PBVM Collaborative Ministry.
